Westchester runs north from the Bronx line toward Putnam County, with the Hudson River on its western edge and Long Island Sound to the southeast. Much of its road network was built as parkways, and New York bans commercial vehicles, buses included, from every one of them: the Bronx River, Hutchinson River, Saw Mill River, Sprain Brook, Taconic State, Cross County and Bear Mountain parkways. A coach going from Yonkers to Katonah therefore uses the New York State Thruway (I-87), the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287), the New England Thruway (I-95) or I-684, plus local streets. That can make a short-looking trip take longer than a car driver would guess. We lock in the route before the day, so pickup times reflect the roads the bus will actually use rather than the parkway shortcut on a phone map.
Group travel in the county covers a lot of ground. Corporate teams meet at offices and hotels around White Plains, then head to the Westchester County Center or to dinner in a river town. Schools book Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, Lyndhurst in Tarrytown and Playland in Rye, which reopened in May 2026 after a county restoration. Autumn brings evening crowds to the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor, and the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge carries I-87 and I-287 across the Hudson for outings on the far bank. Concertgoers fill the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester and Caramoor's Venetian Theater in Katonah. For flights, Westchester County Airport (HPN) is the local option, with LaGuardia and JFK a drive south. Send your pickup points and timing, and we will suggest whether a coach, a minibus or a van suits the stops.
