Planning

Planning a group trip by bus

Every trip on this page is a private charter: one bus and one professional driver for your group only, picked up where you choose and kept on your schedule. A CharterMyBus coordinator plans the route with you and prices it by hand, so your quote reflects your real stops, timing and group size, not a generic rate card.

Pick the right size of vehicle

Sprinter vans carry 8 to 14 people, minibuses 20 to 35 and full-size motorcoaches 50 to 55, with luggage bays underneath for skis, equipment and bags. Larger groups book two or more coaches that travel together.

Book early for peak dates

December weekends for holiday lights, ski Saturdays in January and February, and spring tournament season fill first. Requesting a quote four to eight weeks ahead gives you the widest choice of vehicles.

Plan around driver hours

Federal rules limit how long a driver can be on duty, so long days and overnight trips are planned with the right breaks. Multi-day tours keep the same coach and driver, and driver lodging is quoted separately.

Know what the quote includes

Your quote lists the vehicle, driver, hours and any tolls, parking or mileage up front. Gratuity is optional.

Group trip questions

Can we make extra stops on the way?

Yes. List every stop in your quote request (a second pick-up, a meal stop, a photo stop) and the coordinator builds them into the route and the timing before you book.

Can the bus wait while we are at the event?

Yes. On a day charter the driver stays with your group and the bus is ready when you are, within the hours you booked. Your quote shows the hours included.

Our pick-up is outside the cities listed. Can you still help?

Send the request anyway. A coordinator will check what we can arrange from your pick-up point and come back to you with options.
